Dr. Sharma graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, in 2002 after obtaining an Honors Bachelor of Science degree majoring in biology and psychology from McMaster University. She began working at CCNM in 2002 while maintaining her clinical practice, and shortly after became the Associate Dean of Academics responsible for curriculum design and the delivery and evaluation of various academic programs. Dr. Sharma introduced the visiting Elders Program into the curriculum at CCNM, bringing senior naturopathic doctors from around the world to both lecture and be available for consultation with naturopathic students. During her time at CCNM, Dr. Sharma was brought on by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC), as the project manager for the development of the Professional Competency Profile to be used across North America.

Dr. Sharma was a frequent guest on Human Nature Radio Show on 1050 CHUM AM offering insight into the modalities of naturopathic healing and answering live questions on air. With her focus in education, she has also done various television and magazine interviews increasing public awareness of health promotion and disease prevention.

In 2008, Dr. Sharma went into full-time clinical practice in Toronto, as the founder and clinic director of the Trinity Health Clinic, while still instructing part time a CCNM. Her clinical practice integrates eastern and western philosophies of the nature and cause of disease and focuses on the connection between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers of health. She uses asian medicine and acupuncture, clinical nutrition with diet and supplementation, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, counseling, detoxification, drainage, reiki and auricular medicine as primary therapeutic tools. Currently, Dr. Sharma is focusing on her growing family practice, which continues to offer seminars and workshops for the general public and health professionals, promoting health awareness to achieve optimal wellness in all areas of life.
